TEETH POLISHING PROCEDURE

Teeth’s polishing is the act of smoothening of the tooth surface, using a prophy cup (a small motorized cup) with a paste, also known as polishing grit. Polishing removes any stains caused by drinking juices, tea or coffee, smoking, etc. Sometimes when stains are hard to remove by a regular prophy paste, an abrasive paste is used, also known as coarse prophy paste or
pamice. Teeth polishing procedure is normally done at the end of the completion of teeth cleaning, however, if there is a lot of plaque (soft deposits bacteria) on the tooth surface prior to cleaning, the clinician will choose to polish teeth at the beginning and at the end of the appointment. The polishing pastes are coming in a variety of different flavours. In our office we offer 7 flavours: mint, bubble gum, extreme bubble, pina collada, cherry, cookie dough and raspberry. Ask us for your favourite flavour
