Cancellation or rescheduling Policy

We require 48 hours notice for cancellation or re – booking appointments. Failure to follow this policy will result in $ 50 cancellation fee. The date and time is specifically reserved for your convenience.

Our policy is built on a mutual respect between client and a provider.

We do understand that sometimes we run into emergency situation or a sudden illness. We do not charge you for an emergency cancellation. However, if we see a history of constant emergency cancellations, we will enforce our policy at your next visit.

Please, give us as much time as possible, so we can reserve that time for somebody else.

New patients are required to provide us with first and last name including a billing address, so if there is no show on the day of the appointment we will be able to send you a cancellation outstanding balance on your account.

Payment Policy

Each patient is responsible for their own account on the date of the treatment. The fees are discussed prior to the treatment being done. This is why we offer free no obligation consultation so that you can understand the proposed treatment plan; why you need it and the cost of the procedures. If you require an extensive treatment and cannot afford to pay it at once, we offer flexible payment plans.

Clients with dental insurance plans are asked to bring their identification card at each visit. If there are any changes within your insurance policy or address change, you must let us know. It is still your responsibility to pay for your treatment on the day of. We are more than happy to send the claim to your insurance company on your behalf and you will receive the payment either directly deposited to your account or via check by mail. It is your responsibility to know your coverage. If there is an extensive work that needs to be done, we are more than happy to assist you in submitting a predetermination claim, so you will know exactly how much your plan will cover and how much you will need to pay out of your pocket.

Payments can be done by Debit, Visa, Master Card, and Cash.

There is no tax on dental services. When you are being quoted, no HST applies.

Medical / Health Changes Policy

If there are any health changes since your last visit you must let us know, especially those who have been hospitalized for any reason. It is very important to know if your family doctor or a specialist have prescribed something new or told you that you will need premeds for your dental visits.

Privacy Policy

Our office follows PHIPA policy, which stands for - Personal Health Information Protection Act.

Every new client is asked to read, understand, and sign our policy about the way we collect, use, disclose, and update personal information.

Your personal and health information will be kept private within the office and protected by the privacy officer, Tania Egher, RDH. Your personal and health information is kept confidential within the office and can be only disclosed under certain exceptions, such as your dental insurance; investigations related to law enforcement; national security; international affairs, and emergencies.

Safety Policy

We believe that taking thorough medical histories can prevent many unnecessary medical emergencies.

We are trained in CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. We believe in prevention of emergencies. We’ve invested in the best thing on the market – Defibrillator. This machine saves a life before paramedics arrive.

Defibrillation is the definitive treatment for the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia. Defibrillation consists of delivering a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to the affected heart.

Infection Prevention Policy

Our office follows the Universal Infection Control Protocol.

This protocol was designed to minimize exposure to and transmission of a wide variety of micro-organisms. Since every patient is a potential infection risk we use standard precautions for all patients at all time.

All areas that are touched by a clinician are protected by plastic barriers, which get disposed after each patient. All surfaces that were covered by plastic barriers are being wiped by Optim 33 TB disinfectant. Norwalk-like viruses (Feline Calicivirus), the Polio virus and even the common cold virus (Rhinovirus) are resistant to many surface disinfectants. But OPTIM 33 TB Surface Cleaner & Intermediate Level Disinfectant kills them all in one minute. It also has a one minute claim against: Mycobacterium terrae, Human Coronavirus (SARS), HIV-1, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), Salmonella, E.Coli, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and other viruses & bacteria*, and can achieve a 99.999% broad-spectrum kill of vegetative bacteria in 30 seconds!

We use many disposable items to minimize the potential infection risk. The instruments that are being used for dental procedures are being soaked in an ultrasonic bath for 15 minutes in a non-ammoniated ultrasonic cleaner solution. Than it is rinsed thoroughly and is ready to go into a sterilization stage by Autoclave Machine for 15 minutes.
